sugar1. Avoid the added sugar
Cutting down or eliminating added sugar in your diet can hands-down be one of the best things you can EVER do for your health. Sugar is the driving force behind weight-gain, it promotes inflammation, feeds cancers cells, drives further cravings, messes with your sleep, your appetite…the list goes on and on.

iu2. Choose a quality brand, preferably organic
Like most things in life, not all coffee is created equal. There is a lot of different information out there on the bad and good things about coffee. Now if you are among the many who choose to believe the latter, then it is certainly worth it to consider a quality brand of coffee; and maybe take a step further and choose organic. Here is a short list of the perks of choosing quality and/or organic brands.
•  It can cut down on your exposure to chemicals. (organic coffee is not sprayed with pesticides, herbicides or    grown in synthetic fertilizers).
• It’s better for the enviroment. For the animals that are exposed to the crops and the people who grow the crops.
• It just tastes better. Many likely understand having that cup of coffee you couldn’t finish…

splenda3. Avoid Artificial Sweeteners
Despite the guilt/calorie-free claims of artificial sweeteners, they have actually not come out of the last 20 years looking too hot. These chemical sugar substitutes show up in nearly everything, from diet soda to yogurt and, yes, coffee creamers and sweeteners. The two most concerning ones, for example, are Sucralose (Splenda) and Aspartame. (Equal/NutraSweet and elsewhere). The latter has been investigated as a contributing factor in diseases ranging from cancer to diabetes to birth defects. Sucralose is basically sucrose (sugar) that has been chemically denatured to remove the sugars and replace them with chlorine atoms. Chlorine is a known carcinogen (cancer causing agent). Yummy. On top of all of this, they can actually mess with your hormones and normal appetite signaling, in turn making them a player in you overeating! The good news? There are better options!

CoffeeMate-large4. Avoid Artificial Creamers
I recently ran across a video where the powdered non-dairy, artificial creamers were used to make these huge fireballs over a charcoal grill. This was crazy to watch, and even crazier to thing that people are putting this into their morning coffee!
Artificial creamers are simply defined by their name. Artificial. Pretty much nothing in them is found in nature, which means it can hardly be considered food. They are full of things like trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, and other various chemical compounds to get the creamer to mimic the texture of actual cream. If this has made you second guess your morning coffee sweetener, the good news here is that you don’t have to waste it…you can use it as a campfire or grill starter!

The solution to the issues above! Coffee Enrich is sweetened with stevia (a plant) and resistant maltodextrin. Resistant maltodextrin is a type of starch that is fermented by good bacteria in your large intestine, and also supports the growth of good bacteria (probiotics). Apart from the better sweetener choices, Coffee Enrich has the added bonus of over 40 different fruit, vegetable, and “superfood” powders mixed in with the awesome caramel mocha flavor. And to make it even better, it also tastes great mixed in milk, making a much better “chocolate milk” choice for you and/or your kids.
